Dhoomapaana (ಧೂಮಪಾನ) i.e, inhalation of medicated fumes, scents, garlands etc for diseases arises above the shoulder (nose, ear and throat) by Kapha and Vata dosha.
Ex – Ear ache, Sinusitis, Heaviness of head, Bad smell from nose or mouth, Tooth ache, Sneezing, Excessive sleep and Difficulty in breathing etc.
Procedure
This procedure involves a special technique i.e, fumes are to be inhaled through either nostrils / mouth, but must be exhaled through mouth only, it has to be practiced under the proper guidance of an Ayurveda physician which depends on individual Prakruthi, Season, Health condition etc.
