Ayurveda, the ancient Indian medical science has given various unique concepts to the world. Many of them are being lost over the period of time due to lack of knowledge & practice. Our ancestors had in depth knowledge of all these factors & many of them were inculcated in our customs & traditions. But with the western invasions & influence, all these unique concepts were gradually lost.

Such traditional customs were prevalent in each part of India during pregnancy & for the after delivery care. In modern era, following these customs are termed outdated & unscientific. But all these ancient practices had a strong scientific background of Ayurveda & other Indian sciences.

In order to build a strong nation we need capable citizens. To give birth to such strong personalities, the parents have to adopt certain modifications in their diet, routine & mental factors. These are being very well described in Ayurveda. Ayurveda is the only medical science which gives a complete & comprehensive picture about ideal ways for conception & methods to beget baby with superior qualities.

Starting from the pre natal period i.e., when the couples plan for conception, Ayurveda gives practical guidelines to get best progeny. Even it describes the measures to be taken during pregnancy by the expectant mother for the healthy growth of the fetus. It lists out the samskaras to be done to the fetus for it’s all round development.

All these we Ayurveda doctors have learnt in our academic education. With that limited knowledge we in Sriranga Ayurveda Chikitsa Mandira were trying to adopt these along with the guidance from scholars of Bharatheeya Yoga Dhaama, Mysore. We were searching for people who have exclusively worked in this field of Garbha samskara. Recently we came to know about “Garbha Samskara” training program organized by Garbhvigyan Anusandhan Kendra, Jamnagar.
